But if you are someone who wants a neat little flashlight that is powerful enough so that you can feel safe while walking to your car parked in an ill-lit parking lot, this flashlight is for you. It is a great household flashlight that packs in sufficient power to make you feel safe during those occasional power outages or those under-the-house inspections.

Although I am a big fan of compact flashlights, most of them fall short on the promise to deliver a bright and powerful light. However, I had high hopes from the PowerTac E5G3, and it did not disappoint me even a bit. This is a very compact flashlight that packs in power that can put many expensive flashlights to shame. At its maximum brightness, the flashlight can produce a beam that is 950 lumens in brightness. I was very surprised with the performance especially considering how small this flashlight is.
What is more impressive is that the flashlight can produce a beam of light that can reach almost 250 meters of distance. For a flashlight that is barely bigger than your car keys, it is certainly a very impressive feat.

Operating on 2 CR123A batteries, the operation times of the flashlight on each of these modes is very impressive as well. The flashlight lasts an impressive 50 hours of continuous operation on the eco mode. When you consider how small the flashlight is, this is really an impressive feature.
3. Superb high performance flashlight
Another thing that I love about this flashlight is the ease of use. Unlike many tactical flashlights that have complicated switch mechanisms that are difficult to reach or operate, the E5G3 has a great quick change side switch. With this unique switch, you can change between the modes very easily with just one hand. Most of the tactical flashlights have a tail switch which often requires a two handed operation to switch between the modes. The side switch is great for an ambidextrous use. So, whether you are left or right-handed, you can operate this flashlight with ease.
4. Excellent design and best construction flashlight
Many compact flashlights are often made from a cheap plastic material, but the E5G3 is not one of them. It is made from an aerospace grade aluminum that is hand anodized. This makes the flashlight lighter and really durable. The flashlight also features a great tempered glass lens. The flashlight is impact resistant up to 1.5 meters. Actually, I have personally dropped this flashlight many times but there is not even a scratch on the body of the light.

Cons:
The E5G3 is a great compact flashlight that is awesome for use as an EDC flashlight. However, after using it for some time, I have noticed some minor issues with this flashlight.
Although the flashlight is great, it does not come with a battery charger or even the batteries. It is a minor thing, but while buying it, make sure that you are ordering it along with a couple of batteries and a charger.

I love compact EDC flashlights and am looking for the best ones in the market. However, more often than not, these flashlights disappoint me as they lack many features that make a great tactical flashlight. The E5G3 came as a pleasant surprise!
