Best Tactical Flashlights for Women
It’s not hard to see that many of the best tactical flashlights are advertised toward the male audience. We often see pictures of tactical flashlights with men holding them but rarely women. I find this interesting because I think everybody should have a good tactical flashlight. Women, especially, can greatly benefit from carrying a tactical flashlight for several reasons. Not only is a flashlight handy to have when you’re in the dark but it can also serve as a self-defense tool if necessary. There’s peace of mind with carrying a flashlight or having a flashlight on you. It can make a moonless night less intimidating and a walk through a dark parking lot less frightening. So in this review, I want to talk about some of the things women can look for in the best tactical flashlights that would serve them well. I’ll also talk about five of the best tactical flashlights for women. So let’s go ahead and get started.
Features to Look For in the Best Tactical Flashlight
So here are a few features I recommend in any tactical flashlight for women (and most everyone, to be honest).
Powerful Tactical Flashlight
If you’re wanting to use a tactical flashlight for a self-defense tool it’s important to get a flashlight that is powerful. I would recommend at least 700 lumens because this amount of light will produce a powerful strobe that can blind an attacker and call attention to you. On that note, you want to make sure that the flashlight you get has a strobe mode that you can access quickly.
Even if you’re not wanting a flashlight for self-defense, it couldn’t hurt to get a powerful tactical flashlight that features a strobe mode just in case. A flashlight is a handy tool regardless. Either way, you want something that’s powerful enough to cut through the darkness easily allowing you to see even in the darkest night.
Easy to Carry Flashlight
It’s no secret that women’s pockets are usually tiny if not non-existent, so for many women it may not be a convenient or practical option to carry a flashlight in their pocket. It’s for this reason that you need to decide what size flashlight you’d like to carry. Whether you’re looking for a flashlight that you could easily carry in your purse or a small enough flashlight that you can comfortably put it in your pocket, you’ll find many different options. In the end, it’s a flashlight that you’re going to want to carry every day so pick something that you’ll find comfortable rather than cumbersome.
Practical LED Flashlight
At the end of the day, you want your flashlight to be a practical purchase. It can be really easy to get carried away with powerful flashlights that deliver an insane amount of lumens. I often find myself getting excited as flashlights become more and more powerful that I forget when a flashlight is practical and when it’s not. For a flashlight you plan on carrying everyday practicality is a must. It’s important to decide which features you want in a flashlight that you’re carrying every day, which features are nice to have, and which features are superfluous.
5 Best Tactical Flashlights for Women
Now I want to look at the five flashlights that I would recommend for women. These flashlights vary in power, size, and features. It’s up to you to decide which flashlight speaks the most to you. I made sure that each flashlight that I picked followed the three features I suggested looking into.
First I want to start with the Klarus XT2CR. This is a serious and powerful tactical flashlight, so if you’re looking for a good self-defense and lighting tool you’ll find it in this light. This light has a lot of bells and whistles and definitely isn’t for everybody, but I think many flashlight enthusiasts will really appreciate it. It delivers 1600 lumens and has a really nice compact body that’s only about 5.5 inches in length. It can easily be carried in a purse or clipped onto your pocket or you can even use the included holster that comes with it. Not only does it feature multiple outputs, including two flashing modes, it also features two programmable modes to choose from. In the Tactical Mode you have a One-Touch Strobe and in the Outdoor Mode you have a One-Touch Low. The XT2CR is a great tactical flashlight that gives you quite a few options, is compact and lightweight, and is very practical.
Fenix PD35 TAC
Another excellent and reliable tactical flashlight, the Fenix PD35 TAC is a user favorite for a reason. It’s compact and could be clipped onto your pocket or put in a bag easily. It delivers 1000 lumens and features several brightness modes and a strobe mode. It also features two settings: the Tactical Mode and the Outdoor Mode. In the Tactical Mode you have access to the turbo, the low, and the strobe, allowing you to have a simplified and faster operation. The Outdoor Mode features five different brightness levels and a strobe mode which gives you more options. So you can choose which mode works best for you based on any situation. Either way, the PD35 TAC is a truly spectacular tactical flashlight.
This is a miniscule tactical flashlight that’s only about 3 inches in length. The Klarus XT1C is compact enough to easily put in your pocket or even fit in a smaller purse. It delivers up to 700 lumens and has multiple brightness levels to choose from. You also have a strobe mode and an SOS mode in case of emergencies. With the two programmable settings you can choose between, the XT1C can be more fitted to your needs. With the Tactical Setting you have a One-Touch Strobe and with the Outdoor Setting you have a One-Touch Low. This is an excellent combination between an everyday carry flashlight and a tactical flashlight.
The Klarus Mi7 is another smaller flashlight that is less than 4 inches and is quite a bit thinner than the XT1C. Due to the thin body shape of the Mi7, it’s easier to fit into your pocket and forget about it until you need it. It also delivers 700 lumens but there’s a small catch to that. It delivers 700 lumens using a 14500 battery that you’ll need to purchase separately. The Mi7 can run on a 14500 battery or an AA battery and comes with an AA battery. With the AA battery you can get a maximum output of 330 lumens which is a good amount of light for an everyday carry flashlight but not the best for a tactical flashlight. So that’s something to keep in mind with the Mi7. It does also feature several outputs including a strobe mode and comes in a variety of colors to choose from.
We are on to our very last flashlight on this list but don’t confuse the last with the least. The RC11 is a powerful tactical flashlight that delivers 1000 lumens it is about 4.5 inches in length. This is an excellent straightforward flashlight that features 5 brightness levels plus a strobe giving you a lot of versatility. It’s also a rechargeable flashlight making it all the more convenient. It features a magnetic charging port and a magnetic charging cable that allows you to easily and safely charge your flashlight. This is an excellent flashlight to have with you at all times.
So those are my top five flashlights that I recommend for women. They all are great and powerful flashlights and they’re all varied so you can pick which one speaks to you the most. Everyone is different and everyone has different needs with their tools. While some prefer a more tactical style in flashlights others may prefer a more compact everyday carry style. So after considering what’s important to you in the best tactical flashlight take a look and see if you can find it here in this list.
