Nitecore P10GT Tactical Flashlight Review – April 2017

Nitecore P10GT Tactical Flashlight – New Release – April 2017

So Nitecore has released the new version of the P10, and it’s definitely an improvement over the old version. But is it better than other recommended tactical flashlights with similar designs?

&nbsp

The first thing you’ll notice about the P10GT is that despite its military-grade toughness it is extraordinarily, well, light. At about three ounces (sans battery), it’s a little over half the weight of comparably-sized lights like the MecArmy SPX18 while staying just as tough.

The dual tail switch is a new move for Nitecore, who’s preferred to keep to either one switch, like the MH series, or to put the second switch on the side like with the beginner-friendly P12. The addition of the dual tail switch echoes other lights like the Klarus XT11GT, but it is a welcome addition. Previous Nitecore lights depended on a certain button press sequence to activate the strobe, and I much prefer the second-switch solution.

&nbsp

The P10GT also has three programmable modes affecting the strobe switch and various brightness settings, so it’s nice to have that extra level of customization. It’s a hundred lumens brighter than the previous model at 900 lumens, which is great, but it’s even better to be able to tune that brightness to exactly the level you want – at the moment you want it!

&nbsp

Overall, this is a great light for law enforcement and security positions, with easy-to-use operations and rock-solid toughness. Although some features may lack the polish of similar lights, there’s no doubt the P10GT is just as dependable and functional.
